Two locations are used at West Lakes depending on wind direction, and you will be advised which one two days prior.
The basic skills sessions are conducted in protected waters in a small group, so you have the best opportunity to gain a broad range of skills and knowledge.
You will learn a variety of strokes to manoeuvre a kayak and learn how to safely embark and disembark a kayak. Each stroke will be demonstrated by the instructor and broken down into steps, with individual practice time and coaching.
You will learn how to prepare for a safe kayak trip and the equipment needed for a day paddle. This will get you ready to tackle a kayaking adventure, safely and with confidence. Or with your new skills, you might want to book either a day tour or multiday tour with Seven Senses Adventures to experience the thrill of kayaking around shipwrecks, with dolphins and in narrow creeks and rivers.
